Bonjour to you ... et Bonne Annee,

Welcome 2012!

Starting this new year, I am happy to thank you for your faithful patronage during the past year.

Cafe de Paris will be 10 years old in March and I realize how much you we all owe our fabulous patrons for this successful period.

May 2012 bring you fraternity and health...and a good appetite so that we can continue cooking for you !!

Here is our latest,

-  Paris after Dark:  February 18th starts our Saturday night parties with a late night food menu, DJ, drink specials, and much more!!!  Event starts at 10:30pm and goes until 2am and will be held the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month.

-  French Bites and Italian wines: on February 23rd at 7pm, we invite you to taste a selection of Fibbiano wines paired with Chef Laurent's 5 different pasta bites and the presence of the wine maker!

If you were planning a fun event, remember to change from a traditional birthday party to a "birthday cooking class": gather a minimum of 8 people and spend 5 hours together. Choose your menu with the Chef, select the dishes you will prepare according to your guests and taste.

Then :

- Start with a French breakfast with crepes

- Learn knife skills

- Cook a 3 course meal made from scratch by you, "hands on"

- Enjoy an aperitif with hors d'oeuvres

- Have lunch all together with the Chef

- Learn how to pair food and wine, enjoy 2 different wine tastings during the meal

This package is available for Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 2pm, the maximum amount of people is 15.

Price per person $85 plus tax and gratuity.

After the Holiday Season comes the time to pay the credit cards: still pay us a visit and enjoy a savory or sweet crepe or a light fare at the bar for as cheap as $5.95.

If you wanted to learn how to make crepes, we also offer a Crepe Cooking Class including a meal with a savory crepe and dessert crepe with wine for $35 per person ( or $25 for kids from 8 years old) with a minimum 8 people and a maximum of 12.

"Bonne et heureuse annee" from all of us at Cafe de Paris.

Everyone has an idea about what characterizes a French restaurant. Visit Café de Paris once and that idea is likely to change. Owner Erik Rochard brings a completely new attitude to the French dining experience and has created a casual, comfortable and unpretentious atmosphere that caters to every type of household.

"Bistro may mean quick, but dining at Café de Paris is to be savored not rushed"
Terra-cotta tile, wood floors, warm colors, fine linens, and French memorabilia complete the ambience and invite patrons for some country cooking -- French style.

“My idea was first to demystify French cooking,” states Erik. “Second, it was to create a neighborhood French restaurant, the type found throughout France.” Café de Paris offers a palate of dishes influenced by all regions of France as well as neighbors along the Mediterranean and Alsace. “We want guests to come in, sit back and relax, enjoy a glass of wine or cider, savor a three-course meal or enjoy lighter fare at the bar, listen to a live music and experience pure joie de vivre.”

This is Erik’s passion and it shows in every aspect of Café de Paris. “Dining together is a way of sharing,” states Erik. “Sharing with friends and family, taking the time to enjoy each other’s company while enjoying authentic French cuisine.” As a young boy growing up in France, Erik learned the importance of getting together and sharing the day over a nice meal. He wants Café de Paris to be that gathering place where friends, families, couples, individuals all come together to pursue the virtue of sharing. “I love to see people come in with their kids for a big family event,” states Erik. “Sharing love and experiences around the table.” And of course, good food.

Whether for lunch or dinner, this good food starts with tasty appetizers ranging from French onion soup or home made pâté to escargot or duck confit and lentil salad. Right from the start, Erik encourages patrons to take their time and enjoy their meals. As he says, “bistro may mean quick, but dining at Café de Paris is to be savored not rushed.”

The savory menu selections change seasonally and entrees range from Beef Bourguignon or Roasted Pork Tenderloin to Saumon Grille Ratatouille or Double Crab Cake. That’s right, Maryland crab cakes with a French flair. Next door, the Crêpe Café offers a huge selection of reasonably priced, tasty crêpes. Made with buckwheat, this lighter fare is lower in calories and has fewer carbohydrates than a traditional sandwich.

Café de Paris also offers its popular “Formule” pre-set menu, which includes a choice of appetizer, entrée and desert all for a fixed price.  Guests can also enjoy a delicious weekend Crepe brunch on both Saturday and Sunday.

Recently Erik met with his staff to discuss how to provide an experience that is even more pleasurable; leaving patrons satisfied and happy, and is, most importantly, less painful on the wallet. The vote was unanimous: “let’s change the menu, decrease our prices and produce more eclectic dishes, so that every visit leaves one with a feeling of a great experience that is not regretted when the credit card statement arrives.” With that said, Café de Paris is better than ever and Erik’s continued commitment to food, friends and family remains obvious with every visit. Saveur exquise! (or some such French exclamation).
